Why hire a tutor? (Parents’ Version)

Why hire a tutor? (Parents’ Version)By Janice Pang, Operations Director, We Care Tuition Agency.
I may not be a parent myself but I have definitely witnessed the hassle parents have to go through to find the most suitable tutor for their children. As the old saying goes, all parents want the best for their children and this explains why most parents are willing to spend a bomb on their children’s future - education.
So what is holding the parents back from giving their children the best? The answer is simple – bad experience. As an agent, I have often received calls from parents who confided in us about their encounters with awful tutors. Some tutors were liars in disguise while some were money grubbers in the eyes of the parents. Indeed, I sympathise with parents who have become victims of deception. On the other hand, I feel that there is a need to clear the names for all the other innocent tutors out there.
It is true that there are tutors who cheat parents for personal reasons but there are also tutors who teach their students with sincerity and passion. Therefore, I sincerely urge parents who had bad experience before, to believe in the tutors once again. In fact, parents can now rest assured because the tuition agencies will vet through the particulars of the tutors and ensure there is nothing amiss before attaching the tutors to the families.
I have also come up with a few tips as to how parents can judge whether the tutors are suitable candidates for their children.
Tip No.1: You should be able to have a phone interview with the tutors before deciding to hire them.
Tip No.2: The tutors should be able to produce evidence regarding their qualifications. For example, they should bring their certificates down to verify during the first lesson.
Tip No.3: The tutors are recommended by the agents for doing a good job in previous assignments or enjoy a fine reputation – reliability is backed up by the agents.
With these three simple tips, parents can now relax and end their fears about getting horrible tutors again. I hope this article has been useful in one way or another and thank you for reading till the end. Do visit www.wecaretuition.com to enquire more about hiring of quality and dependable tutors.
